Espionage
María was a different kind of woman. Not different by choice, but because she carried a gift: she was a visionary.
When the FBD discovered that María had a natural gift, they felt mortally offended. Their collective ego could not bear the idea that someone — especially an ordinary woman — could possess something they themselves did not have. And so, they gave the order: destroy María.
They began by attacking her work. They sabotaged her opportunities, created humiliating situations, manipulated perceptions. They recruited colleagues, bosses and even strangers to collaborate in the mission — because María, under no circumstance, could be allowed to stand out or evolve. That would deeply wound the fragile self-esteem of the FBD.
Step by step, they dismantled everything María had built. They provoked her until she exploded and quit her jobs. They stained her name in the job market. Every time she tried to study, sign up for a course, or improve her life, there they were, destroying every chance, as if María’s personal growth were a personal insult to their existence.
And they did all of this in plain sight. Because the FBD believe they are above the law — and are proud to show it. They are proud of their impunity.
María, despite the pain, found the whole situation strange. They treated her as if she were worthless… and yet, at the same time, they had an obsessive need to display power over her, as if they needed an audience for their little theatre.
Every time María formed a real friendship or started a romantic relationship, the FBD panicked. They felt deeply hurt — and terrified. Immediately, they issued a “destruction order”: María was not allowed to have emotional bonds with anyone. She was only permitted to interact with fools selected and controlled by them.
Little by little, they turned María into an invisible prisoner. Why? Because she had something they wanted — something they couldn’t control. A talent, a vision, a light that disturbed them. Because the FBD may be ignorant… but they are not stupid. They quickly realized the value María carried and began to devise plans to exploit her. To own her. To bend her to their will.
But what the FBD did not know… is that their power only works on those who believe their lies. And María, unlike what they expected, never lost her clarity. She may have been silenced and isolated, but she was never manipulated.
Years passed, and these practices became routine. Espionage, psychological torture and human-rights violations were normalized, and they even created new “professions”:
María no longer had any relevance to the story. She was a prisoner, a lab rat, a pretext for the “witch hunt” operation. After years of repetitive torture and mental destruction, she was like a dead body — no reaction, no emotion. As if the abuse had become part of her daily routine.
The FBD even officialised the profession of “psychopaths”, whose mission was to provoke and design torture strategies.
The FBD leaders sold everything they could: their mother, their children, their friends… even the parakeet. Anything for money and vanity. NASA paid them a fortune to obtain “samples of something supernatural.” Little did they know María had no magic powers. She was simply human.
Then there were the fools — people around María who changed according to convenience, who repeated scripted lines and laughed without knowing why. It didn’t matter. They were used as instruments of torture.
María had been chosen by God, and that was not respected. When she confessed that she saw signs and had visions of the future, and even romanticised her relationship with the man she loved at the time, the FBD felt deeply wounded and destroyed María’s vision, turning beauty into negativity, dreams into nightmares, good things into horror. They started placing fake signs everywhere, altering the natural order of things and unbalancing the ecosystem.
The FBD, in their arrogance, began contaminating everything around them. They spread evil as if it were their legacy. Their sick ego became a factory of suffering. Lies, cruelty and falsehood spread like poison, poisoning the planet.
By the time the world realised that the FBD leader had psychological disorders and made disastrous decisions, it was already too late.
The planet was already in countdown.
(Don’t worry — it’s fiction. This is the introduction to a classmate’s upcoming novel, which is about to be published and has already begun promotion.)
